Meeting with Zoe Halsne

Today I met with Zoe Halsne in my DC office. She is a high school junior from Martinez, California. Zoe was among 250 high school students selected from across the nation to attend the Washington Journalism and Media Conference at George Mason University. This weeklong conference offers a unique series of classes, talks, and hands-on demonstrations to explore career possibilities and gain insight into the field. Zoe, who is recording her experiences on her blog, will have the opportunity to meet other young leaders as well as media professionals and distinguished George Mason faculty in the exciting atmosphere of Washington, D.C.

It was a pleasure meeting a talented young journalist, and I know Zoe’s academic achievement and passion for storytelling will bring her success.
