Miller joins Obama at Fair Pay Act signing.

Purple Heart Ceremony for Randall Rife

On January 24, 2009, Congressman George Miller presented Randall Rife, United States Airforce, with the Purple Heart. Mr. Rife was assigned to the 8th Aerial Port Squadron at Tan Son Nhut Air Base in Saigon in 1967. After just 39 days in country, Mr. Rife sustained injuries to his arm by shrapnel from an incoming mortar round while on Mobility to resupply an Army Fire Base at Budop. Mr. Rife received the Purple Heart due to these injuries.
