Extended Unemployment Benefits released this week

Extended unemployment benefits started reaching millions of Americans this week. The 13-week extension of unemployment benefits will impact more than 3.5 million Americans who are looking for work. The unemployment benefits extension was promoted by Democrats over the President’s objections but he ultimately signed it into law on June 30th. After the largest monthly unemployment spike in 22 years, many families are struggling to find work during the current economic downturn. Extending these benefits is one of the most cost-effective and fast-acting ways to begin to spur an American economic recovery.

Visit the CA Employment Development Dept for more specific information regarding benefits.
