What a Week - 4/25/08

On the Floor
The House of Representatives celebrated the 38th annual Earth Day on Tuesday by passing two conservation measures to designate thousands of acres of federal lands as wilderness areas, thus protecting them for future generations.

In Committee
This week I chaired a very important hearing on child abuse and deceptive marketing by residential programs for teens and also introduced legislation along with Rep. Carolyn McCarthy to provide protections against physical, mental, and sexual abuse for teenagers attending private residential programs.
